Hi,

I have a Dell N5110 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and got this BSOD for the first time today out of nowhere.
On analysis of the crash dump (.dmp) file through WinDbg, it shows that it was caused by memory_corruption with bugcheck code 0x9F.

I have attached the .dump-file here: View attachment 372458
I have attached the BSOD report here:View attachment 372459

I ran antivirus/spyware scans and found no problems.
Is this due to a driver issue? Is it due to a usb port that I use to charge my phone?

I have to get this problem fixed, but can't figure out the problem. Please provide troubleshooting steps.

Thank You,
Kaustubh

Hi kaustubhladia,

Welcome to the 7forums.

Please visit Windows Update and install every update available, it may take a couple of times to get them all.

Please follow the AVAST uninstall instructions for removing AVAST.

Hi,

Thanks for reply. I will install the latest updates from windows.

Could you please indicate from which files in the BSOD report, did you find errors in the Avast antivirus and the Intel graphics driver?

I saw another older post which had almost same BSOD caused by memory_corruption with bugcheck code 0x9F. In there the driver issue was identified to be because of the Bluetooth driver: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/220630-memory_corruption-bsod-out-nowhere.html
So similarly, can the driver be identified from my crash dump file?

The dump from last month only said a few things about your network driver(s).
Because you have 2 dumps in the zip file, it is pretty clear.
It is the dump file from today that reported the drivers.

Hello axe0,

So if the errors with the Avast antivirus and the Intel graphics driver were identified from todays crash dump file. I couldn't find aswSnx.sys and igdkmd64.sys mentioned anywhere in this file.

So could you please indicate from where in the dump file is this mentioned?

Thank You

Hello Axe0,

Thanks for the tutorial. I am now able to follow the suggestions you had earlier given.

For the Avast Antivirus, do I need to uninstall and reinstall it, or install some other program like Microsoft security essentials?
For the Intel Graphics driver do I need to upgrade from the current Intel HD graphics Family driver ver. 8.15.10.2361 to Intel HD Graphics 3000 Driver ver 9.17.10.2843, A01 through the Dell support website?

Also is it possible to instead do a system restore to a point before today's BSOD (it will undo Adobe Flash player and Divx updates) to fix the problem?

Thank You
