Missing Shell32.dll after windows update

very strange your system ,run checkdisk on boot up (choose all options) Check Disk - chkdsk - Vista Forums

If it doesn't solve problem too,you can try repair install -no more idea...

Repair install? Is that booting from win7 disk and doing it from there? Cause I was going to do that the last time I restored but thought it might reformat my hdd.

It is all strange though. I've had this computer for almost a year and it's only been since I put win 7 on here(about four months ago) that the bsod's started happening. I doubt very much it is windows and more likely some 3rd party program playing funny buggers. Crazy stuff..

you confuse "repair install" with rescue system in WinRE.Truly "repair install" you can only do on allive system http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html

Problem solved.. Did a repair install and it fixed everything. All my setting are there and programs intact. Installed update(KB2286198) and rebooted to a fully healthy working computer. Thanks for the ace advice and helping me out with this. Much appreciated. X100
