Hello! I bought a new PC and I`m experiencing a very annoying problem. My configuration is: CPU: AMD FX 8350, Motherboard: Asrock 990FX Extreme 3, 16 Gb Corsair DDR3 1600, Kingstong HyperkX 3K SSD + WD Caviar Black 64Mb buffer 1TB HDD, Graphics card: MSI 6670 MD2GD3 and a 520W PSU. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a full HD monitor.

There is a freeze (mouse freezes) that only happens ONCE. Whenever i run a program that demands some kind of graphics i guess... Afterwards there is no more freezing. It's like the video card isn't inisialising well untill i run something that demands it... :| For example, if i set the Control Center to run at startup, and only if i activate the overdrive, the system will freeze at startup for a second, when loading the Control Center... then everything is ok. If i remove CC from startup, the mouse will freeze when i launch a program such as Google Chrome, for the first time, after that all is ok. I don't get it... if the video card isn't initialised untill something demands it... how come the display is on and everything looks ok? Another strage thing is the fact that the freeze is shorter when only one display is connected to the PC (usually i have my monitor + my tv... set on duplicate). All my drivers are up to date, the bios as well...

Slaurro, welcome to the windows 7 forum.

I find it hard to understand how you can figure out that the mouse freezes for 1 second and sometimes less?

I could be that it is your system loading the program into memory and setting up the graphics display.

And then you say the freeze is shorter than one second, I can't imagine how you timed that..

... by continously moving the miuse when the program loads. System loading wouldn't cause the mouse to freeze, it's not normal

Is this rodent tethered or wireless ?
Personally don't see why what is obviously a very small wait would cause concern.

However have you tried adjusting the pointer speed of the mouse in it's control panel applet?

It's an USB cable mouse... But the mouse isn't the problem, i`ve done tests with other mice. It's not a huge problem... but i just bought the PC... and seeing it freeze like that make me mad :|
