Hello SevenForums Community :)
I have been trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate but mouse & keyboard wont work as soon as I get to the installation screen ( where I chose the language ). I have installed the same ISO on the same system several times before, only this time it doesn't work!
My PC is custom build and the specs can be found at my profile.
I have tried to plug mouse and keyboard to different USB hubs including USB 2.0 and 3.0 with no luck. Also USB support in Legacy mode is enabled.
P.S. I use portable Pendrive to install, my PC uses the UEFI framework and I dont have access to any mouse with PS/2 cable.
Thank you in advance.

Mouse and keyboard MUST be on a USB 2 slot. Win 7 doesn't have USB 3 drivers so mouse and /or keyboard doesn't work on the installation disk wizard when mouse and /or keyboard are on USB 3 slot.
On BIOS try to set XHCI Hand off to enable

Thank you for the input Megahertz07 :)
I have tried your suggestion and it did not work. I finally solved the issue by injecting the windows 7 ISO image with USB 3.0 drivers, so that I can use mouse & keyboard during installation. This is the article that helped me: How to install Windows 7 on a PC with only USB 3.0 ports

I have a tutorial to insert drivers to the installation disk. Create a Windows 7 USB flash installation with new drives for new MB's
Boot.wim has two indexes. One is for the installation wizard an the other is for the maintenance wizard. If you didn't install the drivers to the the maintenance wizard (index 1), you won't have mouse / keyboard when you launch Repair.

I've been in Kiev in 98. Nice city and nice people. A little cold summer (for my standard).

You have a very strange issue here, your keyboard and mouse should work through the entire process when using 2.0 ports.

I was just gonna suggest to go to Asrock to see if they have a program to create an installer with 3.0 drivers.

Glad you got it fixed :)

Very odd the 2.0 ports won`t work

I am not sure where I installed them, I used Command Prompt and followed the tutorial, it worked.
Thank you for saying that :) I have lived most of my life outside Ukraine, last time i visited was in 2010 and the summer was very hot. Thanks for your input.

Indeed they should, they used to work fine during installation until this time when i made the post. I used the "Windows 7 USB 3.0 Creator Utility" from Intel but it was stuck, so i had to do it manually.
