Mozilla Firefox errors

I am having problems with my firefox. It keeps logging me off and I have to log on again and it gives me these errors:
firefox can't find the server at us.data.toolbar.yahoo.com.
Sometimes it gives me the error adobe Flash plugin has crashed.
When I go under about firefox, it says I have version 8.0.
I was on a Mozilla Firefox forum and they say my useragent doesn't show that I have that version and to go in and change it? I didn't have a clue what they were talking about.
I was told to try this forum. Can you help? Thanks.

Try clearing FF cache. It's on the Tool's menu.

yes, I have 8.0. My daughter uses google chrome and people on the Mozilla FF forum are saying to use Chrome. I don't know what to do. That is going to come with its share of problems. I already have it on my computer and I clicked on it and it said something about couldn't use because of wrong profile. I'm thinking - I'm sick of this. Just get this thing to work.

do you have any addons or extensions installed in firefox? about the yahoo toolbar, do you use it? if not, please uninstall it. what antivirus are you using? Does chrome work fine or does it give the same errors too? I'd suggest to see what and where is the problem with firefox first then, decide whether you want to start using chrome or not.

Patti: Uninstall the existing flash player from add/remove programs, download and install fresh the latest version from here: Adobe - Downloads . Do the same with Mozilla FF and download the latest version from here: Mozilla Firefox Web Browser. Also uninstall the program JAVA (if you have it). Remember to tick mark the option where it asks you if you want to remove the extension/add on. Run cCleaner, tick mark all the points under Mozilla FF and Multimedia (see pic attached - it will be tick marked by default). Delete any chunks left inside you Computer/C: Drive/Program files/Mozilla Firefox. Restart, now with a clean install of both, browse and do the usual stuff you do with your browser and report back. You could try creating a new user account with administrator rights here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/181024-user-account-create.html and let us know if you notice any changes.

Ok, I will have to put cCleaner back on, because someone told me to take if off. I will get to all this this afternoon. But under the weather today, but am anxious to do all this. Thanks.

maybe you were suggested to uninstall cCleaner because of the registry fix option. but on what i posted you don't have to do that. I will wait for your response.

I am down to reinstalling cCleaner and it won't let me unless I download Chrome. I already uninstalled Chrome, didn't want two browsers on there to conflict. So what should I do. I have down everything down to that point.

On cCleaner, should I tick mark everything you have? I just always cleaned whatever was already ticked. I never even scrolled down to see what else was there. I already got an error somewhere along the way about not having cookies, but it installed anyway. I don't remember what it even was.

you can untick the ones under chrome and internet

I had said I couldn't download cCleaner without downloading Chrome. So should I download Chrome and then delete it afterwards?

I am down to reinstalling cCleaner and it won't let me unless I download Chrome. I already uninstalled Chrome, didn't want two browsers on there to conflict. So what should I do. I have down everything down to that point.

I use chrome & FF at the same time,so don't worry about it.it doesn't harm. but keep the one you like. also, in the your other post, did you try creating a new user account and check if things are messed up when using that too?

User accounts - now you are way out of my league. I know nothing about that and profiles and all that stuff. All I can tell you is when I did a repair install of windows a while back, I changed my user name because theguy who installed it spelled it wrong. Well I thought I deleted it. But now when I see the adminstrator icons it has one with the wrong spelling which was the original and one that says guest. That is all I know about that kind of stuff.

about user accounts its simple. take a look at this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/181024-user-account-create.html
just click on: start button>control panel>user accounts & family safety>add a user account> under you current user account & guest account you will see create a new account click on that create an administrator account (with a different name) - this wont effect your current one so don't worry. after you've done what i posted here http://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-mail/200378-mozilla-firefox-errors.html

I removed yahoo toolbar and a couple of shopathome type toolbars.
I use Microsoft Security Essentials. Someone on this forum said get rid of Avast and use this. I also ran cCleaner.

does your yahoo still log you out from FF? did you try browsing from the new user accounts you created?
