MSE is Turned off?

I just updated MBAM and I'm currently running a full system scan. All of a sudden, this pops up in my Action Center:



So, I open MSE and see this:



What is going on?

I would say wait until the scan is over, and then restart you computer. See if that fixes it

That seems to have fixed it.

If that happens again check in Task Manager whether the MsMpEng.exe is running - that is MSE (was Defender before).

Great! Often times during a scan or update of some sort MSE will show as being turned off when in fact it is on (at least that's what has happened to me before). Glad to see everything sorted
