I have read this thread from day one, and up to the last post that I have read, one thing keeps coming to
mind everytime I hear, another tweak, another tweak, take out this service, take out that service,

This is what it all sounds like to me.

I agree with you bunbun on most of your issues, unfortunately, people aren't going to listen to what they dont want to hear. I have my issues with 7 as well, they are minor issues. Windows is the classic example of decent programming. Fix 1 thing break 3 more. :) Every version of windows lies on what needs to be fixed from the previous version and what needs to be added to make it better. 10 years ago, bluetooth didn't exist, so windows3.1 didn't need to cover bluetooth (just an example).

MS has their work cut out for them in trying to please everyone the best they can and they missed some stuff: maintaining folder sizes for example. So it is not perfect. It cant be. I agree. Anyone who says it is is not looking close enough. (Motto from work: If you dont break something your not working hard enough)

There are 3rd party apps to fix most of the stuff that MS missed. And hopefully MS patches most of the things it did miss. I wouldn't press this issue to much though. If you go to the Macforums, you will get a much better response, but dont say apple is imperfect there either ;)

In my life, I have noticed this:

iFanboy: Our system is perfect MS sucks <--- This doesnt incourage apple to fix anything
MSFanboy: Windoze sux when is M$ gonna fix this #### ? <--- This gaurentees that MS fixes stuff

Has this changed with windows 7? have we stressed win7 to its breaking point? Within 5 minutes on my wife's MacbookPro I "caused" a bug to appear. I was working that system to the fullest :D I have seen issues with win7 as well.

anyone who likes vista over 7 has issues. i am running 7 on a partition on my vista pc, and i cannot stress on how much i hate booting to vista. i haven't really installed many programs on it seeing its only a 100gig partition but performance wise vista should not even be compared to 7. i may not be a techie but i know crap when i see it and vista is crap. as a matter of fact id prefer xp over vista.

I like Windows 7; it is good OS and the programmers at MS certainly improved memory management and services over XP. I never ran Vista so I can't speak for it. Is Seven perfect? Not by any means. I have minor issues with it. Would I go back to XP? No way.

Thanks Thorsen, and no I would rather not go to the macforums thank you very much... ;)

Umm I dont think anywhere in this thread has a statement been made to suggest that anyone likes Vista over Win 7.

Now that is a much better attitude.

I wouldn't go back to XP either. I just feel like people are being misled by all the praise Windows 7 is getting as I was one of them and I am far from the average user.

On sevenforums we allow our members to air their opinions, and as long as they are stated politely then we have no issues with debate.

This right to air opinions is extended equally to all our members.

A member has a right to state that in their opinion win7 is not perfect, this does not mean that they are a mac fanboi, equally, others have the right to state that, in their opinion, win7 is the best operating system available, without being labelled a windows fanboi.

I would like to keep this thread running as an intelligent debate amongst adults, however, if this level cannot be maintained the thread will be closed

Simply coming in to a conversation/thread and stating windows 7 is perfect and not contributing any data/info to the conversation and then saying to the extent of "let the thread die" or "give up its already perfect" or name calling "tweak freaks" is neither polite nor respectful and IMO is trolling/flaming which is against this forums rules. It distracts from those who are trying to discuss and work out issues/ideas and is outright disrespectful. I stay out of threads in which I have nothing useful to contribute and all I ask is others give me the same respect (which is really one of the forums rules as well).

Everyone is entitiled to there opinion which is of course why I created this thread in the first place (which initially got deleted by the mods, IMO censorship) so that my side of the story can come out clearer (and I am obviously not alone in my opinions).

EDIT: Apparently this post deserved -200 reputation points. Go figure.
