Hey, my screen resolutions never seem to stay like they were. I had a 1440 * 900 selected which diappeared from the resolution list, so when I opned my PC this morning, my resolution was changed to something else than 1440 * 900 AND . . this resolution isn't supported anymore.

Another screen resolutions that are possible and have right dimensions, are 1680 * 1050 which is a bit too small for my eyes and 1280 * 768, which is a bit too big for my eyes. The 1440 * 900 is just about the right size, but this option seems to want to disappear every now and then. Any ideas?

Thank you!

I have Windows 7 Home Premium.

Which drivers are you running? And do you have nVidia control panel installed?

Driver Version is: 9.18.13.1422

I have the NVidia control panel installed, YES. I can make my own resolution which I know but is it me or does the selfmade resolutions look blured more than the standard ones?

Update your driver to 331.65 WHQL and make sure to perform a clean install. Set a restore point prior to carrying out the update.

Ok, I installed this, but I went and restored my windows back, because this driver didn't bring back my 1440 * 900 resolution, and my machine got slower too - any other ideas? Thanks.

Did you perform a clean install?

Also it would be interesting to know if you installed anything or changed any settings prior to your 1440x900 reslolution disappearing? Resolutions don't normally just disappear.

Yes, I did a clean install and it still didn't offer me back the 1440 * 900. This is not the first time when my selected resolution disappeares, even when I have not done any kind of changes to my windows or even 3rd party programs. Sometimes when I start my PC in the morning, the reso has changed to a wrong one, -with the wrong dimensions (icons etc. are unsymmetric), and when I go to the reso settings, the reso has disappeared from the list. I then need to select another one. And usually the disappeared reso comes back by itself after a week or two. Why this all happens, should be known by someone in the business, but so far I have not got the official reason for this kind of problem.

Does the option disappear from both Windows desktop appearance settings and nVidia Control Panel?

How are you connecting your GPU to your monitor? HDMI or VGA? One quick thing to try would be to unplug your lead from both the monitor and the GPU then reattach each end after thirty seconds or so, it may be a dodgy connection causing them to not communicate properly. It's an outside shot but worth a go.

I'm still thinking its drivers though, do you have anything showing up as problematic in Device Manager under your display adapter or monitor?

VGA. Nothing problematic in the Device Manager. Maybe I should contact Nvidia?

One other thing to try would be to uninstall the card completely through Device Manager and any driver remnants, download the latest previously linked drivers and save them, then reboot and reinstall the card and the saved drivers.

Hey, I wasn't able to uninstall the NVidia PhysX, all the others tho. When I doubleclicked to uninstall it, nothing happened.
What does it stand for and how can I uninstall it?

Can you find PhysX in Remove Programs on Control Panel? Try removing it that way.

This is how I tried to remove it in the first place. Hey I don't know why, but my PC started to hickup after the new drivers - so I restored myself back to earlier time. I'm a bit sceptical about the new drivers because of that. Thanks anyway for the help so far. I'm gonna see what Nvidia forum has to say about my situation.

CHEERS ! :))
