So I just got a new laptop and I am quite liking windows 7. There is one thing making me nuts and that's iphone not showing up in my computer as a portable device/camera/whathaveyou. When I had vista it was right there everytime I plugged it in. Itunes has had no problem seeing my phone and syncing, but I like being able to manually go into my phone. Especially since I dont really want to download a new program or email myself all my pictures, I just want to go in and get them.

I tried going through and searching for it by using the find hardware/device drivers thingy (you can totally tell I know what I am doing, right? Device driver thingy is the offical name right?). But it just searched and searched and found nothing. I am at my wits end.

I'm sorry if I am rehashing stuff that's been asked 1000X :(

Welcome!

I'm not sure about iPhones, but I know for iPods there is a setting in iTunes to show it as a mass storage device.

Maybe someone who uses iTunes could give a better description?
