Hi

I'm due to install an SSD hard drive in a pc that has a full hard drive. I plan to install Win7 (from the original disk that came with the pc) onto the SSD and use the hard drive for storage.

I'm trying to plan ahead for possible issues, so is it likely that the network will automatically pick up all that pc's settings?

Does anyone have any tips as to how can I make the install run smoothly and be back on the network quickly?

The only other thing you need to do is make sure that you have TRIM set up correctly on the SSD:

You are asking about getting back on the network, and will the network pick up the PC's settings. Chances are, the only network issues you will need to worry about are any networked printers you have and any other computers that you share hard drives with. You will have to redo all of those settings when you reinstall Windows 7.

If all you are concerned about is being able to get on the internet, if you are using the factory rebuild disk for installing Windows, then you should have no problem getting on the internet after doing the Windows install. If, however, you don't have a factory rebuild disk but rather a basic Windows install disk, then you'll need to reinstall the driver for your network adapter after doing the Windows install in order to be able to get on the internet.
