Solved New MOBO, Same HDD

hello, so im thinking of getting a new motherboard. and with that, i would have to format my HDD. however, i would like to avoid that if i could.


what can i do with my HDD so that i can replace my mobo and not have to format my HDD?

i have a WD HDD, so i would like to use their tool if possible.

If you plan using Sysprep method, take care of the warning box for Internet Explorer 10.

Formatting the hard drive is not really the issue with a new Mobo; instead, the issue is that it is likely to have new hardware and require drivers that are not present in your current setup. In worst case, when you try to boot using the old hard drive and the new Mobo, it will refuse to boot.

In addition to the Sysprep method, another way to handle this is to use as third-party product for backups (i.e., Macrium Reflect, Acronis Backup & Recovery, Easus products) that provides support for restoring to different hardware.
