Hello world,

2ish weeks ago I bought a terrabyte drive and did a clean install of Windows 7 on it. In all, things run rather well, but I have received some BSOD's in the past few days and I can't for the life of me think of how to reproduce them, or how they happened in the first place.

I have the minidump files, 3 in total.

GigaSize.com: Host and Share your Files
This one occurred while I was playing The Elder Scrolls: Arena, through DOSBox.

GigaSize.com: Host and Share your Files
This occurred while I was browsing the net with Firefox, can't really think of what else was going on but that.

GigaSize.com: Host and Share your Files
Here, the most worrisome, occurred during the log in process for Windows 7. The 2nd BSOD happened and the computer restarted itself after making the minidump file. After putting in my password as the user name screen the BSOD happened before reaching the desktop.

Is there any other information I could gather that would help in diagnosing these BSODs?

Any help is totally appreciated.

Check your RAM. Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 passes. Post back your results.

Also uninstall AVG. Download and install

MSE.. AVG sometimes causes problems on some systems.

Have you done any overclocking? If so, remove the over clocking from your video card and CPU.

Sorry for the wait, that Memtest took a while.

Either way, I let it run for a day and there were no errors. Also, I uninstalled AVG and put in MSE, and... No, I do not have anything overclocked on my system.

Though, with Memtest, some things didn't go smoothly. I used Memtest version 3.5, and when I boot from the CD with the ISO it came to a menu with 3 options...

1) Run test for single core
2) Run test for multicore
3) Run earlier version (3.4)

Options 1 and 2 did not work, the first options would pause at 5% with the first test, and the second test would not go past 0%. However, the third option worked fine and that's the one I let run for the day... Is that a problem?

Also, is there a file that the results from Memtest go to? Because I just saw that after 5 passes there were no errors.

Hope that helps!
