No 32-bit browser works, but IE8 64bit does

Somehow in the last week Win7 stopped being able to run Firefox, Chrome or IE8 (32bit) browsers; however, IE8 x64 version runs just fine.

I've done all kinds of Network troubleshooting but everything there seems to be fine. I also took the suggestion to reset the IE8 settings but that didn't resolve the issue either.

Could there be a damaged Win7 file that is causing what seems to be a global 32-bit "lock down"?

Welcome to Seven Forums DSinDC. Since a 64 bit browser is working, try this:

Start> In search box, type cmd> Right click cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator

When the command prompt opens type:

netsh winsock reset

Press enter

Restart PC

Hopefully that will fix it
