No Sound Boost Bar Extremely Low Mic Sound

I have no boost bar in the mic settings. I have no idea why. The worst part is that Windows 7 is making my mic ultra quiet. Its pretty much in my mouth. How do I fix it? The Mic works great on my Mac and consoles but on my Windows 7 PC the mic volume is ultra low.

You haven't listed what sound you have, such as RealTek, Connexant, etc. You can find out what sound drivers are installed in the Device Manager, Sounds section. If only "High Definiton Audio Codec" is listed for the sound, that indicates the generic, basic function, Windows installed sound driver and not the actual sound driver for the sound chip. If you can't find out what sound chip you have, check Samsung for your specific PC (and drivers).

Some sound drivers, such as RealTek include a Sound Panel and that may have some sound enhancement that will help if there is no mic boost. Not all PC's have the mic boost.

It says Realtek HD. Windows is starting to suck more and more. All I want is louder mic volume. Its fine anywhere else its just ultra quiet on this PC. I know its not the mic. Is there an external mic boost option? Its been disabled on this PC.

Its not Windows 7, the majority of users like and prefer Win 7 over Vista and Windows 8 and even XP users like Windows 7. Your problem is either the Drivers and/or what the PC vendor has allowed. Off chance the mic jack has a bad connection somewhere. I assume this is a laptop and not a desktop. One thing to check, the "Ring" connection should have +5VDC on it, as that is what is needed for computer microphones. Low voltage can lead to problems. On a standard 3.5mm Stereo Plug, the Tip is the signal, the ring is the +5VDC and the sleeve is ground.

You can try the RealTek drivers directly from RealTek and see if that helps. Download and install the 64 bit version High Definition Audio Codecs. Realtek

FWIW, I do a lot of audio work as I have a recording studio (and am an ex guitar amp tech).

Any other program has my mic high and everyone can hear me. When I run a voice recording through Windows its unbelievably low. So low I cannot hear me very well on playback. Now tell me if its a problem with my Mic or Relatek or whatever this is. I need help. Point me in the direction of an external volume booster or something which will help. This is driving me nuts.

I tried installing Realtek drivers, boosting audio with recording software and everything is turned up to max. This is only an issue with With Windows 7.

Did this PC have something other than Windows 7 initially? As I noted initially, not all PC's have the mic boost feature.
Also, did you measure the voltage on the "ring" connection to see if its actually 5VDC or something less? Something less can cause low computer microphone volume.

If you are trying to use a standard P.A. type mic, the output level is very low and needs boosted up BEFORE the PC.

A preamp MAY work, but the preamp needs to be able to provide the 5VDC for the computer mic.

I checked everything and its all good. The PC came with Windows 7.
