i just upgraded my MOBO to an AsRock MB-970A-G / 3.1

Now I get no system audio whatsoever!

Via my control panel, Realtek Digital Output is checked off.

Previously, I had audio rigged coming from two Gearhead Flat panel speakers, USB powered, and they
worked just fine. They are plugged into an external USB port on the new MOBO.

So, guess I've got some system reconfiguring to do?

Realtek Digital Output - default PBD.

Speakers have only USB connections.

And there is NO system audio, BTW.

Thanks.

could you post a screen shot of the default playback screen and do you have any yellow marks in device manager? do you have a pair of headphones that you could plug into the green port to test for sound. could you also provide a link to the speakers you have?

a) Link to Gear Head speakers: Gear Head | Speakers
(These speakers performed fine before MOBO upgrade Monday)

b) No yellow marks in Device Manager

c) Ear buds connected to green port played back audio OK (YouTube audio track)

d) Screen shot of default playback screen (I gather) - Attached

Think I'm covered with rue here...The USB speakers are POWERED by USB, but in the tangle of connectors behind the workstation, there's no doubt a 3.5 mm audio connector--connected to the speakers--that got pulled from the green audio port during installation of the new MOBO...

Think this is a great big DUH! on Yours Truly!
