NO USB Drivers on Windows Startup

After a recent Windows update or due to some corruption on my SSHD my USB drivers aren't working in Windows. This prevents the keyboard or mouse to function upon loading windows and I can't log on to windows to make any corrections. This also happens when booting into safe mode.

How can I get the drivers updated from a DOS prompt? I have tried rolling back to a previous update with no luck.

I have the current USB drivers from ASUS for my board but they are all windows setup files.

Thanks

Check in your BIOS for an item called 'Legacy USB Sopprt' or similar. Turn it to 'Enabled' then reboot....your keyboard and mose should now be working if inserted into USB2.0 ports.

The BIOS is set to Legacy USB 2.0 Support. The keyboard and mouse are installed in a USB 2.0 port. The mouse and keyboard show up during boot up from the BIOS splash screen.

Yes there is no mouse or keyboard at the login screen. The Bios was always set to Legacy 2.0.

sfc /scannow

If running sfc /scannow, don't forget to run cmd as elevated, i.e. as administrator.

Yes you are correct running from a dvd. I should have noted that before the response. : :(

I can boot to dvd and my mouse and keyboard work fine. I will try the command by Golden this evening.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried the sfc command as suggested by Golden. I ran it several times because the results in the CBS.log file varied. I get the statement "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log . . ."

The CBS log contains lots of items that are unrecognizable to me.
