Nokia PC suite not working

Hi I have a nokia N95 phone so i wanted to install nokia PC suite but it gave me an error saying that i require administrative privilidges so i right clicked the setup file and click on Troubleshoot Compatibility, and then ran the .exe file as an administrator and selected windows vista as the working OS with this program, still it gives the permissions error.
tried disabling UAC, did not work. please help...

I'm having the same problems here.
I also have a Nokia N95(8GB).
If I figure this out, I will let you know

Also, may I add, that Nokia PC suite has different versions, depends on where you live...by mistake, I almost installed the suite meant for Europe, not Canada.:huh:

yes i even tried with nokia pc suite 7.0.9.2 it didnt worked

Unfortunately, this program could be one that just doesn't work with Windows 7...maybe with the next builds coming out in the future, this will not be an issue.
If anybody has a solution, we would like to hear from you.

Nokia PC suite is very, very picky with windows versions. It's only recently that they've got the phone software updater working with Vista.

Take a look over at N95users for more info on pc suite.

Never had a issue with this one working using the Compatability and Run as Admin. Also, theres a newer version of PC Suite that works for the N95 called Nokia Ovi Suite. Which also works fine for me

I have successfully installed both OVI and NSeries PC Suites on my Windows Seven machine.

The problem is now that the device is not listed anywhere on the PC. Under devices the USB hardware is added, generic phone, Nokia N95 etc.. is all there, but it does not list in the usable drives, like where the c: is.

I can launch PC suite, it sees the phone is connected but will not sync, will not show files. The device manager has no errors and everything seems fine. I have used the original usb with the phone, and other usb cables, still no luck actaully seeing the device.

Other USB devices like external hrad drive and flash card work.

Everything else in the OS works, but no copy my pictures from the phone cuz it wont list the unit as a usable hard disk.

Any ideas?

Figured it out. PC Suite works NSeries PC Suite does not. For me anyways.

I used an older 6.x.x version that came with my n6630, the newest one would not work.

Agreed.
Nokia have been very slow getting any version of PC suite to work properly.
I did get it working on Win 7 64-bit but only as administrator in Vista compatibility mode.

I found it very buggy and troublesome with my W7 (7600)U, removed everything okay
now - go figure
