wow where to start.
I was playing an on line game and my computer crashed (just went blank)
after the reboot it wanted to check the c drive as it is named "os" and it is an ntsf? after i let it check the drive i had no internet. (but remote access worked on my other computers) i ended up uninstalling norton and i got my internet back. reinstalled norton and i thought everything was fine. i did updates for both norton and windows. but everytime i shut down and restart i get the same error message that my c drive is names "os" and it is an ntsf and needs to be scaned. i tried to manulally scan but says it is in use. also having probelms with a dll fiel that i cannot find on my computer.

the other problem i am having is that when i try the command prompts it tells me i need to be an administator?? i treid to log in as one but i am the only one who uses it (family computer)

If you're operating under the normal Administrative-level account with UAC enabled (or not) then to run an installer .exe, rightclick to Run as Admin.

I would uninstall Norton and install free lightweight Microsoft Security Essentials which is recommended by most everyone here after years experience with Win7 from beta days.

Then work through these troubleshooting steps to sort any remaining issues by watching for repeat errors in the logs, using System REsources, and testing hardware as indicated.

okay so i tried the hd diagnostic and it says clean. so i got rid of norton and trying your next solution. i will elt you know what happens. stil getting the dll error wjhen i start my on line game. i googled it and was told t odelete it but i can't find it?
