Hello all.
From two days I have strange problem with USB mouse. Here is the story:
It seems that from time to time clicking LMB doesn't work and RMB doesn't work either or work incorrectly.
I happens with some of application not all. For example I don't have problem with Firefox at all, but I do have with TeamSpeak. When I start TS I am not able to click on any menu it is just not working. Sometimes when this happens I am even not able to click on shortcuts on my desktop, however if I press ctrl+alt+del, without launching task manager, everything reverts back for a short moment.
What I did and what I have discovered:
1. If I reboot my laptop without mouse connected to USB it works perfectly with touchpad, but as soon as I connect mouse both touchpad and mouse have a problem.
2. Reboot without mouse connected, took 2nd mouse and everything was ok. But when I connected 1st mouse then I got again this problem even if I reverted back to 2nd mouse without rebooting.
3. I disable themes services.
4. In msconfig in reboot I manualy choose how many CPU should be run on.
5. I did SFC test and it says everything was ok.
6. I check system with Spybot Search&Destroy = clean.
7. Google, gooogle, gooooogle and don't know what else I can do.

Step 3 to 5 was just googled that they might help, but it didn't work for me.
Any further help is appreciated.

if you tried a different mouse and it was ok, then it sounds like the issue is with the mouse itself not the computer
maybe the mouse needs a clean
maybe something along these lines is what you need to concentrate on. (you could search youtube too also search for your model of mouse)

Well I don't suspect mouse itself becouse the problem is linked with some applications only. Always the same apps. The coursor is moveing but clicking works weird also when this happen touchpad starts working weird like a mouse. And like I posted before if I reboot, plug 2nd mouse everything is ok until I swap mouses to the 1st one. After that if I swap mouses back (so unplug 1st one and plug in 2nd which was working well) and DO NOT reboot system the 2nd mouse is wokring weird like the first one. But this only happen in some apps not all. Example I can't control TeamSpeak while in same time I can fully control Firefox.

sorry i just noticed the second mouse issue in point 2,
in that case as the problem is replicating on the second mouse then we have to narrow it down
possibly to the drivers
check in device manager to see if the drivers for the mouse will update, or uninstall and reinstall see if that makes any difference.

If the problematic mouse is wireless, try this:
remove the transceiver from the USB port
remove the batteries from the mouse
click and hold each button for 5-10 seconds one at a time to disipate any charge
install fresh batteries
put the transciever in a different USB port

That might help if it's the mouse.

It could also be a 'conflict' with the touchpad and mouse. That's a tough one to figure out, you just have to play with both device settings until they both behave.

It could also be an application specific issue. Also difficult to figure out, but again you can take a step-by-step approach to see what mouse function is affected by which application.

That's all I can offer. Good luck.

Thanks for tips. The problem was....hard drive failure. I've got bad sectors on system partition.

Have you run chkdsk on all of your drives?
tick both options (automatically fix errors, and fix bad sectors)
