Have you tried Windows Media Player? it's really nice and can convert into many formats

Well, it is ages since I did any audio CD ripping.
The best audio CD rippers, IMO, are
1. Exact Audio Copy - with best error correction that your money can buy, for free
. http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
2. CDex - the next best and almost as good as EAC. http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
No need to look any farther. The rippers dished out with most players are more of a convenience for those not so finicky about the rip quality.
