Well done, told you the OEM Intel heatsink fan and fan combo was on its way out and you did have overheating issues. I suspect you will find your PC does not grind to a halt so much, if at all.

I get the "blue screen" and after i change the BIOS back to 15%, windows offers me to repair my OS, or start normaly. I am pleased with my CPU @ ~3.7 Ghz, no need to push it over. The pc slowed down while boot up, but it is much faster after it gets "moved"

After 3 days of testing, my overclocked P4 is working very well! Didn't notice any kind of lag in games. It's slow on boot-ups. thanks again

Hi all. Is there anyway to OC if there has no settings in the CMOS i tried software but it doesn't work. I don't really want to max it out or anything i just want to up the speed a bit and plus its a system that i dont use.

Hello, benjy206 and welcome to Seven Forums. If you would, please fill out your system specs. That would help us to be able to help you. If you have a pre manufactured computer, like Dell, HP or others, the bios is locked and there is really no way to overclock. That is why they lock the bios. If you have a custom made computer, fill out the system specs and maybe someone can help you.

Thanks for the reply. Yes well the one i wanted to try it on is a dell. But I have a lenovo g550 also but I don't want to try that because it's a laptop so you know yourself. So there is no way with dell then?

Not a chance that I know of.

You can try software like setfsb. This will not increase the temperatures.but remember you can only go so far without needing to bump up voltage.

Ok, I have done the Windows experience test, and the results were same as before overclocking. After i closed the window, i noticed that the CPU gadget was showing some weird cpu usage?!?! the percentage bar says that the processor is running @ 10-20% of full speed, while the chart shows 0-100% (see attachment). And the RAM usage went from 20-25 to 40%

What is happening?

If you have an amd cpu you can ise amd overdrive. If not im afraid you will have to look for less popular software overclckk tools

Have you tried to push it past 3.7 i think ypu should give it a try. If you temps are that low then go for it
