The option I find useful is Option Two, the wipe or "secure erase" function, of course Windows will do that but to run "clean all" it marks an entire HDD/SSD as "unallocated space" and does the whole drive where-as the wipe in Partition Wizard will do just a partition and leave the rest of the drive alone.


YMMV, always have backups!

Hello mate.



The point is that "clean all" won't do just a partition, it'll automatically do the whole drive and any data on other partitions will be lost.

If you type "list disk", yes.
If you type "list volume ", no, only cleans that volume #.

I don't know mate, I tried it and it did the whole disk; did I do it wrong?


I saved most of the snips when I was playing around with it.

To be honest, I have nothing that doesn't have data on it that I can have a play with right this minute but I have another 500GB HDD that I can put in the hot swap rack that I will setup in the next few days and set up some partitions on it, so I can experiment with this.
