Hello all,
A few days ago i have installed windows 7 on my D: partition because my windows from C: wasn't working anymore and I didn't wanted to format C so I won't lose my files.
After i solved my problem with the windows on C, i deleted the windows (including all files that he creates) from partition D. But after that i found a problem, when i installed windows on D he changed the permissions on my files so i couldn't access them anymore. Finally I managed to restore the permissions of my files but there remained one problem that is disturbing me: i can't copy or create any file anything on my D:\ partition because i get a message "Please remove the write protection!" or "Error 0x80070522: A required privilege is not held by the client", but i can delete or modify the files.
I remember that the owner of the files was TrustedInstaller, but I removed it and added myself.
I have tried a lot of methods but nothing worked, i even made the same settings for permissions like they are on my E partition but doesn't work, I tried safe mode... nothing.
If anyone have any idea how i can change the permissions so i can copy/create any files on D would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply Bare Foot Kid,
But i was asking for help on how to repair the problem with root write permission on my D partition, not how to copy files to D, because I can copy if I disable UAC or if I use Totalcmd as Administrator.
I just want to somehow reset the permissions after that windows installation screwed them up, so I'll be able to copy files without needing to disable UAC or use Run as Administrator on Totalcmd.

Why dont you just backup your user data to an external drive/dvd, then format and partition the hard disk and reinstall windows? Will save you some future headache.
