When playing my favourite games my PC randomly crashes then restarts itself, No BSOD just restarts itself. :(

I have looked in and out of my PC and just cant find what is wrong with it and just feel like giving up and making a new build, but before I do I want to give it one last try and thought you could help me?

So like I said I could be playing a game for about 20 minutes in and for some reason my PC just restarts again no BSOD just restarts.

My PC Specs:
14/02/2011
CPU: AND Phenom(tm) ll X4 840 Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology (GA-MA770T-UD3)
Ram: 8Gbs DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 (1 GB)
Power: 650W
Windows 7 64Bit Ultimate
PC is not over-clocked!

Things I have tried...
MemTest 6 Hours+ = No Errors Found
Graphics card updated! = Still restarts
Open side door, PC does not over heat = Still restarts
Checked HDD (all green)/ Swap HDD's = Still restarts
Fresh install of Windows 7 using uptodate drives = Still restarts
Installed Linux Mint 15 Mate played games on there (Steam) = Works perfect no restart
Lowed all settings in games i.e. quality to low = Still restarts
Took out un-used parts i.e. Other disc drives = Still restarts
Added two new 120mm fans = Keeps cool but still restarts
Changed ram to other slots in the Mobo = Still restarts

As you can tell I have tried many many of things and yet still nothing :(

I hope someone here can really help me?

Thanks!

Ahh Sorry I got up too early!! Just re-read your initial post. You don't have any dump files.

Unexpected Shutdowns are usually due to either Hardware or Software,
usually overheating and memory issues cause these type of issues, also a faulty
power supply may be suspect.

Check all power leads and connections.

Does the condition exist in :ar: Safe-mode?

It may be best to re-run :ar: memtest for 8 passes.

I also see in your logs a lot of app crashes related to Nvidia 3D vision, when did your issues start?

Cheers

Dave

That's Fine Dave and good morning! :)

As I said before I removed any Hardware which was no longer in use and since this is a fresh install not much is in Installed. (I can list programs if needed)
I don't think it is a Overheat problem I run speedfan when playing my games and they only reach 40c-50c and I have left my PC door open to see if that would help ( and it did not) I never really thought about a faulty power supply if I had a faulty power supply wont the PC just shutdown or just not turn on? I was going to use "http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp" But I don't know what to answer for some of the questions.

All power leads and connections seem to be perfect everything is running all fans are spinning.

I can not true SafeMode I did try! But when in Safemode I cant load any games. It only restarts when playing games I can do anything else Web bowering,Skyping, Video editing/rendering etc...

Well when I first built this PC it never happen! But then over the months it just started restarting here and there.. And I thought nothing of it, Now it seems to get worst like today! (14/08/2013 8:13am) I tried to play Age of Empires III (Retail copy) started a single player game (4v4) and sometime in it crashed and restarted, (thinking to myself I thought whatever) and let my PC restart bla bla and login and re-started Age of Empires III just into a game again (offline bots) and crashed and restarted! Gave up now am here :\... Funny thing was earlier today (Well yesterday night 2am) I was playing Age of Empires III with my Friend Online and not once it crashed or restarted on me!

I will do a Memtest later on this week as I all ready did one and takes so long till 8 passes :(

I have saved up some money and have been planning on buying a new Graphics card as I thought that may fix all this? Am still not 100% sure! I really want to make a new build but sadly I really don't have the money for a whole new PC so am am upgrading mine in till I have money to buy a new Mobo + CPU.

Hi,

Start>Control Panel>Network(left pane)>Network and sharing center
Click "Change adapter settings"
Right click either "Local Area Connection" or "Wireless network connection" (depending which you use)
Double click "Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)", then click "Advanced Tab".
Select the tab "WINS"
Now you should be able to check Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
Click ok.

Reboot and see if the issue is resolved?

I would also remove the 3D vision for Nividia.

cheers

Alright Dave I did it. "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP"

I also removed 3D for Nividia and just restarted, Should I go play a game and see what happens?

I want to note I have a OpenVPN installed on my PC "Tap Drives" Which of course means I have two Networks in "Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections" I only edited my Local Area Connection (Which is my main one) As I don't have my VPN on when gaming... Just wanted to add that.

Hi,

I didn't expect that would fix, just eliminating possibilities.

Lets try resetting Winsock incase that is corrupt,
Winsock entries tells Windows 7 how to access your network services:

1. Start> type in search box cmd
2. Right click the resulting cmd and run as Administrator
3. Copy and paste each line seperately and hit return:

netsh winsock reset catalog (Hit return)
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (Hit return)

You will be asked to reboot.

Again test the system :)

  Computer: Boot-PC
  Description: N/A

Seems Nvidia Streaming Service may be faulting, maybe caused by the current driver.

I would suggest Rolling back the driver to the previous version, please follow:

:ar: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/165382-device-manager-roll-back-driver.html

Once rolled back you will have to disable the Nvidia updater program otherwise it will
install the latest driver again at some point:

Click on the Start button
Type msconfig , click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect Nvtmru or Nividia Update progam
Apply > OK
Click the "Services" tab, click the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box, then check the
Nvidia Display Driver Service and Click OK, then restart the computer.

Then test the computer again.

cheers

Dave
