Hi, I've got a colleague here who's wanting to click on the dropdown box in IE8, and have it show some of his most used sites.
He doesnt want to have to use the keyboard at all.

The reg key at HKCU\software\microsoft\internet explorer\typedUrls obviously has the list of urls I've typed in.
However, they bump up a number (url1 always being most recent) everytime a new site is typed in.

1.) Is there a way to keep a particular url as url1, so it will always stay at the top of the dropdown list?
Its almost like having the favourites bar, but without using the favourites bar.

2.) ...come to think of it now, could it be possible to redirect the downdown list to point to favourites instead of TypedURLs?

Solved.
As it turns out, the great features of autocomplete and suggested sites pull results from favourites and history.
Typed URLs pulls results from the above reg key. They appear in the reg key only if you type out the address and press Enter. That'l save it. Then click the down arrow of the address bar, and voila! Its there.
Half typeing the url (or domain name), and pressing down arrow key and enter will not save, as thats using the autocomplete/suggested sites feature.

Im not sure if its silly to answer your own question, or if its rewarding cause you're the first to find a solution... :-s
