Damn Steve that's a low Vcore you managed. Do you think it's due to the board or you got a "Golden Chip"?

Paul my bus speed often varies a few tenths like that too, usually 99.x, is I set it to 100.1 in BIOS, then it will go a bit higher than 100.1.

That seems rather a lot of voltage to me Alan for that speed. I know every chip is different but I would imagine you should be able to drop that to at least 1.3V and be fully stable, maybe lower.
I don't know how your temps are at 1.48V but they should be considerably lower at 1.3V too.

I think there are lots of folks on here with the same CPU as you, hopefully they will chip in with what they run at. I expect you can go lower than 1.3V @ 4.4GHz maybe even down to 1.2V but you will need to have a good play with it to see how low yours will go.

Maybe some deep fiddling with LLC, Offset, or something. Steve got 5.0 at 1.28, I think it was.

Alan, my previous chip a 3770K not a 3570K could run 4.3 on stock voltage. If you haven't already, look at this guide
Ivy Bridge Overclocking Guide ? Asus Motherboards#. It works. it is done on a different board, but almost all Asus Z77 boards have the same overclocking options that work the same way. That is the way Kelly has his bios set up and I do too. So the settings work well for either chip. I would suspect you should be able to run at 1.2-1.25V. My 3570K I used to own could do 4.6 at that voltage using those settings. Just some suggestions. But, at the end of the day it comes down to the piece of silicon Intel sent you.

@Paul. the 100.3 is simply I hate to overclock to 5.0 and see CPUz at 4999. It really torques me off. So, 100.3 fixes that. That's the only reason.

That is certainly a lot better Alan, I bet your temps have dropped a fair bit under load too right?

I have the same thing with mine. If I set it to 100.00 it will run at 99.xx so I set mine to 10013. Alan, you may be able to go lower, like mentioned each chip is different. My 3570k runs 4.7 @1.21 and 4.5 as shown here

with that speed honestly should be around 1.22v i am a little over that at 4.8 1.296

If you want, take some screenshots of your BIOS and maybe we can help work through some of the settings. Just pop a flash drive in and press F12 to save the screenshots to the drive.

Alan, I've zipped my bios settings for you. You may not have all the options I have but you should have the most important ones. You can't use my ram timings, frequency or voltage, use yours. You also have to use different CPU voltages. I would set yours to manual and try 1.25V to start. You should be able to see where I am in thie top of the screen. Be sure to set the CPU configuration like mine. (Advanced > CPU configuration) Also, use Core Temp for temps. There is a number, VID, on it we need to see. After you get a stable voltage, use whatever you want, but always only use 1 temp monitoring program at a time. If you have any questions, just ask. I just noticed, in advanced tweaker CPU PLL I usually use 1.6.

Well I finally got around to sorting my daily oc of 4.5Ghz using an adaptive Vcore 1.232v. I'm sure I can get the voltage down a tad more to 1.216 though but we shall see Max temp's seen were 69c.

Guess you will be moving onto the GPU's at some point. Do you have the MSI Gaming App installed? I was testing it out the other night on Jess' dads PC, the OC mode takes it a little higher.
