Tommy, what does LLC extreme mean in MSI language for mb options? I have vdroop at +100% and CPU Core OCP expander at enhanced. Cpu core switching Freq at auto.

My cpu v's are set to 1.28 in bios with vdroop it runs as showed in my earlier ss

Are these settings for what you are talking about, here is a ss

Doug, grab a few shots of your BIOS. Alan, Linnemeyerhere, may know, he's used MSI stuff.

Oh wow you have MSI totally forgot you don't have that only APM Active Phase Management

That doesn't help much because MSI has a whole other way of doing it Control Center is the only way to get around it but still not safe in my book

Guess it didn't pass the test, BF4 crashed so back to 4.7. I thought about tweaking the settings but 100mhz isn't worth it

Well that sucks Doug. It's odd how something will work for awhile then suddenly with no changes you'll get freezes or BSODs.

As example, I started running BOINC on my 3770K system, fine for a few days then it started to BSOD after a few minutes. I made no changes, but it has been running now for 8 days running.

On the downside, it's really taken the fun out of Overclocking.

Nice overclock, michaelst. But, I agree with smarteyeball, it's just getting too easy. We really used to have to work at overclocking. And some of us still do it the 'old fashioned' way.

Way too easy. I've read that "in the old days" people rewrote or modded BIOSes and in some case used a pencil or metallic pen to make different connections on a CPU.

Using one of the auto-clockers will change many variables that are really too high, like volts.

The nice thing about these Asus boards is you can still do your overclock the manual way. There's even a semi-manual method, It's completely versitile. I just chose the one click method to see what it would do.

And of course you don't even need to overclock the new i7 4790k to get 4.4ghz.

We often use it to find a ~stable OC then make the BIOS settings to match and see if it flies.

Be careful using auto clock. Sometimes it will jack up the cpu vcore a bunch.

My motherboard had an option to choose any speed I desired. But I think it might be too much on the chip to bear. Was playing with DOTA2 the other day and the Idiot PC blank-screened on me. Might have to haul the clock down to ~4200 Mhz.
