Greetings

Well i got some odd issues while trying to play 3D BD Movies on my laptop recently,
Since i bought it I never had any problems with playing 3D BD movies with PowerDVD, till around 3-4 days ago, when i tried to play something i got this message and powerDVD was unable to play it : "3D Experience requires 3D enabled TV and player" ... tried some more movies but they were only able to be played in 2D ...

I googled it and the solution on cyperlink's site was disabling hardware accelerator as it disable True Theather, now here's the problem, in the main menu,i press CTR+C --> Video --> and I do remove the check mark in front of Enable Hardware Accelerator (ATI Avivo), OK and out. BUT each time i play a movie the Hardware acceletor option greys out with a mark and i'm unable to change it, not sure what happened, a few weeks ago HP assisst manager updated both CCC driver and PowerDVD but i'm not sure since when exactly i'm unable to play 3D BDs with it.

Also tried TotalMedia Theather 5 but still no result, it can play movies just in 2D and the 3D option is unavailable. I searched a lot but i was unable to find a solution, red many stuffs in ATi or cyperlink etc. updating VGA driver, run TriDignition diag test, downloaded and installed AMD Media Codec Package , Restart the computer -.- (oh c'mon) etc. none of them worked !

I'm not sure what cause the problem and i was unable to disable hardware accelerator in advanced setting --> trobleshooting as there was no options for that, btw my VGA is ATi HD 6850M, So if anyone has a suggestion or solution I appreciate if u'd share it with me

Best Regards <3

Did you try system restore?

If that does'nt work try reinstalling the player. (make sure it's free)

I think you said, powerDVD?

KMplayer is a good alternative.

KMPlayer - Download.com

Thx for the replay, tried KMplayer but like TotalMedia player its only plays 3D movies in 2D,so went for a system restore back to the date I uninstalled Daemon Tools wich causing trouble when i was trying to play Blu-ray Disks with PowerDVD, but still no results ... going for reinstalling powerDVD and upgrade it to 12 and if it does not solve the problem, guess i'll have to Reinstall windows and reset back to factory settings ...

KMPlayer is best to use. It is able to play damaged files by repairing compressed video/audio.

Unfortunately i'm unable to run a repair setup as i just got a set of recovery disks what i created for my laptop, actually i tried some more blu-ray disks and one of them gave me this error :

This Blu-Ray disk requires a blu-ray 3D player connected to a 3D display. Your blu-ray player has not detected that it is connected to a 3D display. This may be due to display capability or an equipment connection issue.
Please consult your blu-ray player manual or player support website for more info.

Actually i had some issue with a virtual drive that i've created with Daemon Tools around 1 month ago but after i noticed that powerDVD is unable to detet the real blu-ray driver i uninstalled Daemon tools and problem was fixed so i was thinking that would be an issue with powerDVD and my BD drive but now i've experienced the same issue with KMplayer and TotalMedia 5, and with this error i guess that may be my laptop's screen problem ?

What make and model is you laptop?

Click start>computer. See if you have a recovery partition. If so, reboot and start taping either the F10, or F11 key to enter the Recovery Manager. Follow the prompts to return the computer to factory state. If there is no recovery partition.

Load the Windows 7 Repair Disk (you created), or Windows 7 Installation Disk into the DVDRW drive, now reboot the computer.

The computer should start running the CD at startup.

If it does not, you'll need to change the boot order in system BIOS.

If the software still does'nt run properly, then either the software is bad or you have a hardware issue.

Next, test would be to run a extended scan on the HDD in system BIOS.

If the drive checks out, you'll need to try some other Installation software.

If your computer is from HP, etc. You'll need to order their Recovery software.

I did as u said, it was the software problem as the test passed with no probs so i uninstalled it, my laptop is an Envy 17 and i just noticed the latest patches for VGA drivers causing the refreshing rate of display gets back to 60 HZ after swiching between power saving and ATi VGA (I did not know that refresh rate was set to 60 and it needs to be 120 ... someone in evny forum recently mentioned ) and i was unable to change it to 120HZ within any programs so did it on resolution option.

Fortunately found a download link for PowerDVD in HP website so i took it, did the latest updates and after all it now works properly.
Anyway Thx for advices and best regards :)
