Problem upgrade with Sony VGN-FW170J

I'm running Vista Premium x64, on my my FW170J and when I try to upgrade I get this error. "Can't upgrade an x64 Windows 7 to a x32 Windows Vista"
I am dual booting with RC, the RC version works fine.
Sony is no help.
Has anyone seen this problem?

Did you try clean install?
Or does that suit?
