Hi if any one can help it would be much appreciated . I have a problem that when I try to open `music` from the start menu or from windows explorer a page will open for a split second then immediately close , at the same point the task bar will dissapear then reload as if it has had a crash of sum sort .

This has also happeneds when trying to delete files I no longer need from `downloads` I get the same problem
. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated .

1) Did you upgrade or clean install 7?

2) Have you installed all drivers?

A couple of things you could try.
1) In your Music folder change view to "Tiles". Close explorer window and then try to open the folder again.
2) IDK, what format these music files are. Try deleting them from within the application that plays them E.g. itunes or whatever.

Hmmm, why would folder view be a varialbe here?

You should clean install if you didn't the first time, and then get the latest drivers.

Thank you for the reply, Is there any other way that you know off that I may be able to solve this issue in stead of a fresh install? as I have my PC the way I like it and it would take some time to get the software and extras back after a fresh install?

Do you have any ideas what could be causing the problem? Your help is much appreciated

As already stated, the upgrade can have have issues so it's the general consensus here to do a clean install, which would then make diagnosing the issue easier. You could try the SFC /SCANNOW Command and see if that helps.

From your comment about the "task bar dissapearing" it sounds like an explorer.exe crash issue. Can you create a new profile with admin rights to test this?

Exactly what I was wondering, should have nothing to do with the problem.

Where did this music come from? A cd you added to the pc library? Limewire?

Through "start orb", click Control Panel.
click users
Depending on your setup, you'll have an option to "create user" or to manage users. You should be able to create the new account through here.

To be honest, this problem doesn't seem to have anything to do with "administrative privileges" so I would just create any account, login and test the action. explorer.exe process is specific to the user accounts, so if it's an explorer issue, it's easily fixed.
