Problem with wireless adapter

Hi guys,

Recently, when I power on my laptop, I was unable to connect to my wifi, but able to detect other wifis. I then tried to troubleshoot it.
After that, it shows 'fixed'(pic5).
However, when try to connect to wifi again it shows this(pic6)no connections are avail
I then went online and tried to go to device manager to reinstall my wifi drivers, and then this came out when I tried to connect to the internet(pic7)also no connections are avail.
I then restart my computer and it works as normal, able to connect to my internet.

From that day onwards, I have to do this steps every day in order for my wifi to work

Is there any way to fix this permanently, cos I find this very annoying, have to do all this before I can connect to the internet.
I doubt its my router problem and it is my computer problem as other computers and phones has no problems connecting to my wifi

Are you sure you've got the latest WiFi driver installed on your machine?
I came across same thing, and it turned out that I had much noise happening around my laptop. Nevertheless, I updated my driver and it somehow did a better job to keep the connection. Also, I am not an expert with networking but as far as I can understand, wireless connections got own channels there, each with own strength and etc. Not sure if this might help but worth a try attempting to change the channel of yours (I don't remember software's name which aided me doing that unfortunately, but maybe there are other ways to go about it. Also, before doing anything unfamiliar to you, do make sure you get enough reading done, because you are the one to be responsible for own actions you do there. Better to be safe.).

Also, see if you have any informative entries regarding your lost WiFi connectivity via Event Viewer Log. It can tip you into more cues/hints to look up for later.

Add the details of your wireless card, e.g. its name'n'model.

I then restart my computer and it works as normal, able to connect to my internet.

Device Manager allows you to disable component for as long as you need.
You can skip doing restarts, and disable, then enable your wireless adapter.
After disabling it, let it have some seconds of rest, then enable it back.
Make sure you don't disable anything else that is crucial, else more problems.

Hi,

My wireless card model is Atheros AR9485WB-EG. Its Driver Version is 9.2.0.504, which is the latest version.(K46CB Driver & Tools| Laptops | ASUS Global
)

I read online and i found out a software (tweaking.com pic 8) that worked for some people(i personally used this software last time to fix my windows update problem) idk if it will work, please advise.

Went to Event viewer and saw some interesting stuff, every time i uninstall and reinstall the driver it shows there in the log

Please advise what i should do, maybe try out that software or other software that can help?

I haven't used Tweaking software before, neither I will be able to advise you on its further use.

I suspect that you are having lots of WiFi spots all over the place nearby. Thus it goes hardcore for your laptop to stay strong in its connection to your router. You can testify this theory by trying going outdoors to some place with limited WiFi activity. For example, finding some place where there aren't many people using WiFi and arent many WiFi spots, but 1-3. You could try checking your connectivity to that free WiFi spot you find, and merely keep an eye for its signal and how long it lasts. If it doesn't behave same way as it does locally where you are currently, then it's about surrounding noise caused by other networks and WiFi users.

Thing is, you can eventually connect to your router with laptop. This suggests that the problem isn't mainly in your latest driver or router but the circumstances.

Like I said, I had alike situation and it got resolved by me having updated driver for WiFi and I also did some Windows Updates. The mix of this sort of helped me to have a stronger bound between laptop and the router. I think if you merely stay up-to-date with the updates for your laptop - you will be fine.

Or, as the last resort, use wired mode of connection to the router, instead of WiFi. It may be not much comfortable with you, but at least it works in your favour.

As for Event Viewer Log, what we see there are your or system attempts to resolve WiFi connection via automatic package / troubleshooter. It's fine to try it but at times like this it is rather useless. You may like to look up for error/warning level of entries in these logs. You do see warning ones on this screen but they hold useless information at this point. You can double click on an entry and look into its content per two tabs available. Maybe you will find something interesting, maybe not. However, you can scroll down to this large list of logs to search for the one when WiFi gets lost or some problem occurred mentioning something about network/wifi and etc. You want to find out why you lost the connection, however, it may not be easy to figure it out alone via these logs - they act as supportive information for your further problem deduction/investigation. The next time you lose your internet connection, there are chances it gets logged in this Event Viewer. Therefore, the moment you lost connection, you can memorise time, so that when you search through this large log catalogue, you could orient by approximate time of connection loss to locate relevant records of interest faster/easier: by time stamp.

In either case, I think you're fine the way you are, but got to keep your system up-to-date. In case you got it this way already, then if you still get these irritating disconnections, you can always make a use of google in order to find relevant to your wifi card information on topic "frequent disconnections" or any other key words that can bring you to the root of the problem.

I think there are possible tweaks to make in order to enhance own connection, but they come at cost of something else, like, reliability or security and etc, but I cannot go in depth about these tweaks as I am not into that stuff. Anyways, if the mentioned tool was already tried before my reply reached you, and it worked for you - well, then it carried out some of those tweaks probably.

If you like to continue getting around this problem of connectivity, I'd suggest you to carry out the test I've spoken of earlier in this reply. See if it behaves differently at another place, because you need to know if your problem is actually those other connections and wifi hotspots all around you, or not.

hi,

I brought my computer out to Starbucks for 2days,
doing my work and it seems like there is no problems (however the problem happens at random times)
when using my computer at home for about 2 days, it is working well but in the third day the problem starts happening again(so I guess this happens at random times)
it i tried to disable and enable the driver, but it doesn't work, still have to restart my computer
can't do wired connection cos my laptop Ethernet port is broken
welp Idk what to do next
