Here I have my second question and I'll be very grateful to get a good response as in my first post on this forum. I'm using Deep Freeze ( a program that freezes the OS partition ) and I want to know if I install my programs on other partion D:/Programs/ - example, there will be the same thing as installing in C:/Program Files/ ? When I install a program in C:/Program Files/, that program does change some Windows files? I'm asking this because if I install programs in D:/Programs with OS partition C:/ FROZEN it means that any changes will be removed after reboot. I usually disable the deep freeze, reboot computer, install programs in C:/Program Files/, and reboot again to freeze the partition.

Also, I think I tried to install something on other partition than the OS one, with the OS partition frozen and it seems that the program is not entering the All programs list. Beside this minor fact, the program will work corectly?

I wrote alot, I know, if there is something unclear please tell me in order to give more the details and help me out. Thank you alot all! Great forum!

Later Edit: The main question is: When installing a program, it does important changes to Windows folder or other folder on OS partition ignoring the Program Files folder? If it does this means that I have to disable the deep freeze in order to install a program on OS partition.

I'm not an expert on Deep Freeze but as far as I know, any changes that are carried out whilst the OS frozen will be lost when you reboot except those that have been saved to any unfrozen partition you have created. Also, when you have a frozen system and are working in the frozen state, you CANNOT make changes to the "real" OS. ie c:\windows. This means that you should not be able to permenantly alter the list of programs available on the programs list as it is part of the real OS and what you are working with in the frozen state is a copy of the program list and not the real thing. As far as I know, you can do an install whilst in the frozen state but you will lose it once you reboot this means that the program list would alter to include the new program but only until you reboot and then it is lost.
