Punkbuster fix

Ok, Wolf ET. Anyone know what I need to do, to get this working.

It seems to have it's own Punk Buster files in WolfET\pb folder.

I have run the pbweb.exe. It updates the app, but doesn't seem to help. Getting Windows API PB kicks, and "Disallowed Program/Driver"

Also I have tried the pbsvc installer, but I don't think that is necessary for Wolf ET. Maybe COD4/5 etc.

Can anyone clear this up.. and let me know if you've gotten Wolf ET working?

I got PB working for BF2 last night by going to the C:>Windows>SysWOW64 (System32 if you're on 32 bit) and running PnkBstrA and B.exe as admin and Vista SP compatibility and then going to C:>User>Username>AppData>Local>PunkBuster then in the game folder you're wanting to play, run the same two .exe files as admin and Vista SP2 compatibility again and it sorted out the API kicks for me.

Obviously download the PB updater for the games as well and keep them up-to-date.

I went away for a week and when I came back PB updated the COD4 client to version 2.200. I played COD4 MP online last night for about 2 hours with no kicks, two different servers, Win 7 7229 x64. PB fixed now maybe ?

Yep, punkbuster seems to work now with windows 7 rtm.

Are you sure, cause I'm about to install it, but need to be certain cod4 works on windows 7 rtm 64bit?

Guess I'll just give it a go. If it dosen't work, I'll just wait thoes two months till evenbalance fix it.

Um are you guys sure? I've tried Battlefield 2, Battlefield Heroes and America's Army and I'm still getting kicked almost right away. Is it just COD4 that was fixed? Maybe it got an updated PB that the others haven't yet?

I've only tested on COD 4 and 5 ATM so they may not have updates for all the games yet but I'm sure they will be working on it.

Got BF2 to run on RTM 32bit not sure if it was punkbuster or some thing I did. I played all day yesterday

What I did I ran regedit then went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\PnkBstrA. Right click on PnkBstrA and select permissions so Sercurity Tab pops up. Under Users(YourPC'sName\Users) check the box for full control hit apply. Also I went to ControlSet002 and CurrentControlSet did the same thing.

As I said not sure if it was what I did or PB ??

I tried this and everything else in this thread for that matter and I'm still getting kicked. Did I mention how much I hate Evenbalance/Punkbuster?

I played for about an hour and a half today without being kicked!

I noticed about a week ago that my PB client for COD4 updated to version 2.200. That was about the time I was able to play using Win 7 x64. My PB client for AA3 for example still shows 2.184.

I've played 3-4 times since then, multiple hours per session and no kicks. Before the updated I tried most of the advice on various forums for setting the PB exes to Administrator compatibility mode, messing with services "control desktop" settings, etc. Nothing allowed me to play COD4 on PB-enabled services until this new updated to the PB client came in.

So perhaps this was a fix unique to COD4 for now ?

yes - i play bf2 on rtm x64.

i had to run pbsvc.exe and pbsetup, didn't have to fiddle with compatability settings.

I have to concur, I played today and there was no issues with playing what so ever. It looks like even balance has finally fixed their flaw. Now if they can make the whole software stable we'll be ok....They will never gain any more points with me ever...they can only regain what they lost

No they haven't. I'm getting kicked in all PB games I have.
