Hi There,

I currently work as an IT Tech at a property development company.

We currently have staff who travel overseas often and flights are booked through the QANTAS website and the itinerary is emailed to a HR staff member.

When the HR team leader forwards the QANTAS itinerary email to the travelling staff member it freezes Outlook 2010 for exactly 5-6 minutes. After 5-6 minutes it unfreezes and successfully sends.

I have tried to follow this up with QANTAS but they have said it has nothing to do with their emails.

I believe it is something imbedded into the email which is causing Outlook to crash. (Maybe a hyperlink or some images?).

This happens on ANYONE in the company’s Outlook.

Any tips / suggestions?

I've seen a similar problem. When forwarding an email containing an attachement Outlook would "freeze" for a few minutes. Eventually the email would send. One workaround was to exit outlook via task manager then relaunch it. The email would then appear in the "Outbox" and could be sent instantly from there.

The problem stopped when we switched IT support to another company and they reconfigured our server. We also swithed to Office 365 at the same time.

Thanks for your reply. This is a temp fix but not a permanent one :(
