Solved Question about elevated heat

At the present time I have my fans hook up to 12v fan hubs. They run max. all the time. Some fans you can't really do this without a lot of noise.

If I was going to control fan speed I would use a physical fan controller.
Their are many one can choose from if Googled.

I'm not saying my methods are the only ones. They are the methods that suite me and my systems.

I also don't consider 400 to 600 rpm fast enough for 120 and 140 mm fans.
Example would be you top and bottom fans.

Your cpu at 39C is very good.

Could you correct your system specs.

Now it seems I have big problems.

I cleaned the interior and booted - it booted up, but I couldn't get the monitor to recognize the Display port.

I was going to use an old monitor, but now the sleep light is flashing and the top fan light goes on for a second.

I noticed a red light near the MOBO that I never noticed before and I think something must have blown.


Do you think it is the power supply or something worse?

Edit- it now boots, but I can't get the monitor to accept the Display port connection.

I think it probably overheated originally and shut itself down.

i would check all connections in the case. you might of bumped something loose. also might want to reseat all the cards in the case.

red light could be a ram problem. might have writing next to the led. i was refering to all card like the ram sticks.

If the LED is on the Motherboard, check your manual. It will tell you what each LED is for. If it is on something else, tell us what the LED is on and we may be able to help better.

The red light is gone now.

The problem is with the monitor.

When it comes on, I select input and Display port but it just shuts down the monitor - "no signal".

Did you reseat the ram as that can cause display problems.

The red lights will come on when booting and the system is still in the bios. Those red light indicate the motherboard bios is check things and will go out if every thing that has been checked is okay.

Steve has a great idea. Check you motherboard manual.

I'm thinking something has been jarred loose; ram modules or connection of harnesses ect.

Well, I came home ready to re-seat the Ram, but decided to boot up first.

The monitor was immediately recognized ( I had turned it off last night - don't know if it reset it or what, but everything is working perfectly!

Thanks - it just seems strange, and even though I cleaned the inside thoroughly, my temps have not decreased much, but I'm happy.

Right now I'm at 37C, so that's the best I can hope for.
