Solved [Question]Safe Temperature

Well,have just bought Acer TimelineX 4820TG.

Just want to know,what is the safe range of temperature for the cpu and gpu?especially during gaming.

Mine reaches a maximum of 90 degree celcius,is that normal?I feel hot on my resting palm on the laptop~kinda worry~

For CPU, it should be under 60. For GPU it should be under 70 or 75 atleast.

Normal?? That's totally ABNORMAL. You'll ruin ouir card with that temps. If you've overclocked your card, reset it to default. Overclocking increases card's load and temp. make sure you've proper cooling. Don't game with that temp (90C) ever.

On a Notebook like this, you can lower the temp by about 10F with a coolpad: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...p=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960

That 90°C the GPU or CPU? Laptop on a hard flat surface or sitting in a lap?

The review does mention that laptop model "rapidly heats up" to 90C. Doesn't sound good unless that only happens if you're running full-out benchmarking and not simply games. I second the cooler advice, and don't get a cheap one - they barely work. My old Dell Inspiron did not benefit much from those cheap $10+ coolers but saw definite improvements with a Zalman NC1000, although it's a tad small for my current notebook.
