Hey everyone! I have a bit of a problem (among many). I use vuse to download stuff and was wondering how to reduce the ram usage of Vuze. Im running an Acer 5315 (crap i know) and my ram shoots up to 80% usage wen running vuze and FL studios at the same time. I have even had times were my cpu usage would be 100% we unpacking a rar file! I need my laptop for some school work and know if this keeps up its gonna die!:cry: I only have one gig of Ram installed so far. Im waiting to get a job at ups if that works out. Could you guys please help me with this issue cause its drivin me nuts. I did some research and read i might need to increase my cache size among other things. but i dnt know how to do that.(embarrassing cause im going to school for network management) Also I have icons in my tray that i cant uninstall. i hate to ask so much but i need some help and you guys helped the last time i was here soo...
Im not too good with umm locating thins as well on my cpu so if you guys could give me instructions on how to do some stuff i would be extremely grateful.

THANKS!:D

Hello there. I guess that you have 1GB of ram memory?
Anyway if you want to get free ram memory start RamMap and click on Empty from menu and select Empty Working Sets and System Working Set. This should reduce your ram usage.
Also why don't you use utorrent ?

Make your system lean and mean by getting a thumb drive 8GB less than $10.00 and put all your non essential software and stuff on it. Then uninstall them from your computer and defrag and disk clean.
This will take a load off that 1 GB of Ram until you get your new job at UPS.
Good luck in seeking employment and most of all
Welcome to 7 forums and report back to StalkeR on your results.
Have a great day.

Run CCleaner tick the box "Tray Notifications Cache" ;

Run the cleaner. You will be asked to restart Explorer immediately ( You have to do this or it wont work ).

To restart explorer;

    Click File from the menu.
  6. 6
    Click New Task (Run...).
  7. 7

There's nothing wrong with 100% usage of the CPU - it's normal to see that. Also with memory, if you are not using it - why do you need so much? Stop worrying about the percentages.

It is heat that is the killer, and not the heat chucked out - that shows your cooling is working - it is the core temperature and importantly the temperature of the graphics processor that you need to monitor.

SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

can help, but also has some overclocking features which can be dangerous, only to be used if you can afford to replace a burned-out system.

Here's a recent thread where a member is actually using the Windows power settings to reduce the processor use, and noticing little difference in performance:

http://www.sevenforums.com/performance-maintenance/153544-dealing-power-managment-windows-7-a.html

You can reduce the impact of Vuse on your system by configuring how many seeds/peers you download from and upload to, and reducing your maximum rates of transfer. Dump the Vuse toolbar if it has installed itself in your browser.

You could also use that 10$ memory stick (suggested by The Howling Wolves #3 above) as a readyboost drive, taking some load off the installed system resources.

If you use MSCONFIG, you can unload some of the stuff that loads at startup - and also fills your notification area with icons, it is a large area though, but you may find some pointers here:
