Hi,

I am not sure what is the issue here, but I receive the above two BSODs randomly for the past couple of days.

It happens after the start up, say like five minutes (after all the startup programs have been loaded).
Sometimes, startup is fine... But if I let my system idle or watch any movie, the whole system freezes and BSOD shuts the system off.

I tried to get the minidump files, but the BSOD fails tor write it. The minidump folder is always empty.
I did try changing it into kernel dump in the properties window, but it fails to write too.

So far,
Unplugged and plugged my hard disk.
Tried using SeaTools DOS, but it won't detect my harddisk
Tried CHKDSK multiple times, it does fixes, deletes and restores the disk volume, but the error persists.
Tried uninstalling my antivirus (ESET), but it comes back alive (may be restores) after CHKDSK.
Tried repairing the startup.
Tried updating the Hard Disk driver.
Tried this hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977178 , but it seems I am using SP1 already.

As safe mode wouldn't let me uninstall programs, I am out of options.

I am now posting this from safe mode :(

Any help is appreciated. I am really really sorry I couldn't find a way to give the dump files. If there is any other work around please let me know.

No data uploaded ... but teh thread title is Random BSOD - 0x000000F4 and 0X0000007A. It gives a prima facie notion of a hard disc failure.

Test your HDD with Seatools .... preferably Seatools for DOS. To get your HDD detected, read this caution for AHCI controller users.

Take both the Short test and the Long test. Let us know the results.

upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

It is not worthy to say anything without testing .... but based on what you posted till now, I think it is safe to say that you need to replace your hard disk.
