Yesterday after my comp was idle for about 3 hrs, I returned to do some more work and noticed a handful of bugs that weren't there before. These bugs aren't limited to Win7, but with other programs as well.

1) I am no longer able to slide the items in my taskbar.

2) In Win Mail 11, I can no longer click and drag to highlight text in emails.

3) In Itunes, I can no longer preview music.

4) In dreamweaver and photoshop some of the menues aren't working the way they should. For instance in photoshop when I am saving a file and it asks for the quality. Normally a slider bar shows up where I can slide it from 1-100. When I mouse over it, I can see the slider bar trying to display, but it keeps disappearing.

I tried restarting my comp and even did a system restore to 5 days ago and that didn't work.

It gets weirder. I woke up today and for about 30 mins this morning all these bugs went away. Then they all came back and have stayed for the rest of today.

My HD is brand new, 1 month old and I installed Win7 one month ago as well. I did a virus scan, nothing came up. I have no idea what this could be, any help?

Try a malwarebytes scan too
Download and make the full scan. Make sure you updated MB, before use. Many problems do not just all at once there is a reason.
Things do not just come and go. If the MB works out. Next step will be a clean boot and a safe mode.
But first lets do the scan.

Woke up this morning to find my comp had restarted itself. Which I also noticed yesterday morning. I normally keep my comp on 24/7, so I assumed it was a windows update that restarted it. But 2 days in a row seems strange.

Anyway, it seems all the bugs are gone again. Malwarebytes finished and found nothing.

I think this could either be malware/virus or a bad windows update.

Could this just have been a Win7 update that was bad? My comp restarting the last 2 nights is strange, and perhaps during the few hrs before all these bugs happened, it could have restarted also for an update and I just didn't notice.

What do you think?

A computer can be waken by the internet. To me its not good, malicious downloads; dont really know. But its good that the antivirus and malware turned out good.
I think too many people blame problems on updates.

Well it was fine for 2 days, now today all the bugs are back. Ran multiple virus detections, but found absolutely nothing. Also took a screenshot at the time when the bugs weren't there of the "processes" and "service" tabs in Win Task Manager so I could compare it to when the bugs returned. As far as I can see, they are near identical.

Any other suggestions?

updating the graphics drivers seems to have solved it. The bugs went away right after the update, although they've gone away before. I'll let you know if they return.
