Rappelz is not compatible with Windows SEVEN ?

Rappelz/GameGaurd/Windows 7 7260 RTM 32bit

Its good to see a thread based on Rappelz and windows 7.Anyway I have installed Windows 7 as of lastnight and just finished installing Rappelz about 10 minutes ago along with its updates.Unfortunatly there is an incompatability with the the GameGuard and it quickly shuts off followed by an error. That error is as follows- "Error has occured while the Game Guard was running. Please send the *.erl files which can be found in the Game Guard folder to [email protected]. "-i have not sent those files to that address because i do not think it will fix the issue any help with solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Well for those who have been staying updated, Windows build string 7264 64 bit & 32 bit RTM have been leaked.Of coarse it is safe to say the Microsoft is directly behind the leaks. With the launch date being October 22nd and some sites claiming the 23rd, mid June is when the Official and final build should surface.Microsoft has already compiled passed 7264 with Windows 7 Build 6.1.7265.0.win7_rtm.090624-1905 although this version has not been leaked I must say though, with playing around on the 7260 build its with out a doubt it will be the best thing since XP, and actually beats XP in stability,speed,boot-times and its just the best. Its about time, so long Vista, so long XP (sp3) you have had your time now let Windows 7 shine :)

Yup, I avoid games with GameGuard or any sort of frustrating root-kit like behavior from an anti-cheat and copy protection package. You'll see most developers from China, Korea, Japan, etc. use these since that sort of behavior is rampant there.

It's a shame. I tried Rappelz once, and it's a good engine and MMO-style game for free, but was put off by the horrible 'Engrish' and poor quests/story-line. On that other hand, Phantasy Star Online/Universe was much better (not free), but still riddled with this bad GameGuard-like software.

That stuff is trouble, and even when you uninstall your game, that crap is still left behind.

Have you tried running the game with admin rights? My cousin plays MapleStory (sigh) which uses GameGuard and it will only play with admin rights.

I'd probably care more if I didn't have to scrub that particular laptop once a week from all the other stupid **** he tries to put on there.

shouldnt i have admin rights considering i have installed a fresh copy of windows 7 im positive this is just a build issue with windows 7 tho i would rather be corrected and just have the game work.

Right click on the executable file on your drive (ie: in Program Files(x86), not the shortcut), and choose Properties. Under the Compatibility tab, put a check in the box to run as Administrator.

So i gave the administration a try. This did not solve the problem. or did running it in compatability mode of WinXP SP3 its funny because before moving to windows 7 i had xp sp3 and i worked fine.so im gonna continue to believe its a build issue because after all this is n ot the final product of windows 7.Again any further help is handy.

Ok this is the final conclusion on this subject.I have sent all the erl files to the korean branch for gameguard and due to the fact that Windows 7 is not released in retail versions they are not supporting any of the unofficial releases. So there you go there is noway to make gameguard compatible with any of the build versions and there wont be.GameGuard will support Windows 7 either immediatly or shortly after the official release. eithier way windows 7 is garunteed to rule over all OS systems which im so happy about.....sombody pinch me. now this subject is closed......unless you the guy who is like " I HACKED IT AND HERES THE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO DO SO" :sarc:
