When my HP Pavilion DV6-2113SA boots, I just get a black screen for about 20-30 seconds, then it gets to the GUI. I have a vague recollection that a long time ago I used a tweak that stopped anything showing during the black screen period but I'm not sure now.
If I tell win 7 to run chkdsk on the next boot, all I get is a row of dashes all the way along the top of the screen and nothing seems to be happening. The test is actually working as I found the results in the event viewer.
Is there a way to get 'something' showing in this early part of the boot sequence, if only just to reassure me that all is well!
Thanks.
