Hi Marie,
Attached is a cmd file to uninstall the telemetry KB.
If you want to update your Win 7 computer, use Simplix
My suggestion is to set Services - Windows Update - Manual and on WU page set it to Never check.
Then run UpdatePack7R2
Simplix is a single file (850MB) that contain all updates since Win 7 released up to date. It has all security and non security updates without the trash (telemetry and tracking). Very good.
Then run WU manually to find updates for Office etc and decide witch one to install.
Hi Megahertz07
Okay? doesn't simplix contain spectre/meltdown security updates?
Windows update is set to never check since I got win7 yeeeeears ago
I learn that lesson on windows 98SE the hard way with blue screen and trashed OS with reinstall as consequences.. or if it was win2000... however, it was a looooong time ago
The tracking and telemetry do i have under control, both in win7 and win8.1 But thanks for the tip anyway.
It is this spectre and meltdown that i haven't figured out yet.
Edit:
I don't install monthly quality updates or monthly preview updates........ I don't trust them
