Relocating My Docs to another partition

I did it again. Can you believe it? I've been taking images for years now, yet the other day my brain again failed to boot. My nightmare is when I reach for an image to restore I fail to save my bookmarks & My Docs before I revert. So the recent stuff is gone. Aaaagggh!!!

Can I idiot-proof my Windows 7 by permanently basing My Documents, My Pics, My Bookmarks in another partition so only the CDrive op. system gets zapped & needs to be restored on demand.

You can move your entire user account to another partition but that comes with problems, the main one is that windows imaging will include that partition in the image. The way a lot of people separate their data is to leave the user account where it is but to physically move the documents, pictures etc into folders in the new partition and to incorporate the folders in the appropriate library. This doesn't help with your bookmarks though. If you use Firefox or Chrome then your bookmarks can be backed up in the cloud and synced across devices.
