I purchased a webcam (Gear Head model WCF2600HDBLU) and installed it before reading the instructions (yea I'm a guy). The current drivers were downloaded from the web (or maybe are Windows drivers). Well when I tried to use the webcam in another USB port it says "Device not recognized". The device does work properly in the first USB port.

Read the directions and it say "WARNING! Do not connect you USB camera to another port once the driver is installed. The driver will not be able to detect the device once switched to another port".

I've tried installing the webcam in the USB port I want to use by using the install disk with no luck.

I've tried to Disable the device, uninstall the device and uninstall the driver. No Luck.

Of course Restore would work IF I have a restore point prior to the webcam install. I Don't. Yes I accept my 40 lashes.

Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.

Any ideas and Thanks

So, you`re saying after you installed it, it didn`t work properly at all ?

And you can`t remove the software/drivers through add/remove programs ?

It works great in the first USB port but for certain reasons I need to plug it into another USB port. I used the easiest to reach USB port when I tested it out. Now I want to move to another, out of the way, port.

I will go try the add/remove programs....Edit to add: It does not appear in the add/remove program list.
