Replaced disk, put 7 on a 7->10 machine. Will Win 10 try to reinstall?
I had upgraded 7 to 10 with the free upgrade. Then my disk died. With a new disk and Win 7 reinstalled, will Windows try and recommend/reinstall Win 10?
I want to stay on 7. I have a laptop on which Windows 7 is optimal. Runs great. I had upgraded it to Windows 10 to claim the free install and then the drive (which had been failing) failed.
New drive installed, I installed Windows 7 from CD and activated it.
So this machine has rolled back, but not through any formal Windows Rollback procedure.
Now as I run Windows Update I wonder, will Microsoft automatically install Windows 10 on this machine?
If in Windows Update I check "install recommended updates", is Windows 10 AFTER the free update period (but on a machine & license that had been upgraded) still considered a recommended update?
Should I install GWX control panel?
