Simply what it says in the title.. Is it possible to get a laptop to resume from sleep upon pressing the touchpad? Similarly to how a desktop resumes from sleep when you click the mouse? I went into device manager, and my laptops touchpad or keyboard doesn't seem to have power options under properties.. So is it possible?

To see if it is possible go to device manager. Once there right click on any entries pertaining to touch pad. Right click properties, click advanced. If you can use it to wake your computer you will find a box to check

There is no advanced button for the touchpad or the keyboard.

Then again.. None of the devices on my system seem to have the "advanced" button or tab in their properties.. Tried the graphics card, bluetooth device, integrated webcam.. Nothing seems to have an advanced button or tab.

I have a desktop with no touch pad, but for keyboard this is what I did.

Device Manager
Clicked on the arrow on the left of keyboard, brought down my specific keyboard

Right clicked on the keyboard
Right clicked properties
Settings
Power Management
Then the box allow to wake was checked

I cannot guarantee that it is there for touch pad, but it is there for keyboard.

Experiement a bit you will find it for keyboard, then it will be similar for touch pad. Experiment you will find it and be able to change it.
