I'm not sure where to start.
I know my way around Windows well, but this has sent me down an unfamiliar street.
I've recently formatted my HD, and installed Windows 7 x86 (32 bit).
I have all of my essential programs & 2 games installed so far, and I've been happy with it for the past week. A fresh & clean start.
Recently, meaning today, I've ran into quite the problem.
Getting to the login screen takes about 15-20 seconds, which is normal for my computer.
Logging in takes about another 30 seconds. That's abnormal.
Now the main reason why I'm here is because there is no task bar, or any of the GUI stuff that would normally boot by default in windows 7.
When I open task manager, which loads fine with a little delay, it shows explorer.exe up and running.
but all of the processes are using very low memory, and most of them haven't even started. After approximately 10 minutes (yes, 10 whole minutes) the task bar and all of my desktop icons load. Load very slowly though.
Any program that I load after that take another 5-7 minutes, but they do load.
I can boot into safemode no problem what so ever.
I did a registry clean, temporary file clean, a Disk Defrag, a virus scan with AVG 9.0, and another scan with Malware Byte's Anti-Malware. Both turned up %100 clean.
The programs that I normally have boot are AVG 9.0, and Zone Alarm FireWall Pro. (Security)
The other programs that boot up are PeerBlock, and the Realtek HD Management software.
I have gone into msconfig and checked Diagnostic start up (loading basic devices & services) and it has yielded no positive results. Still the same old crap.
Disk Management says that all of my drives are "healthy", or in good standing. I only have one partition on my 250 GB, which is Windows 7.
Oh! Two important things to add is that I got a Blue Screen after doing all of those above tasks during safemode and then booting normally. I got an error code of 00x0000000, 0xx00000000, etc. X's & zero's??
Last but not least --I have no internet connection for some strange reason. It just has the yellow exclamation point.
I'm currently using my MacBook to post this.
P.S.... There are no restore points. I'm not sure why. Maybe I have some sort of crazy super virus
I just want to play All Points Bulletin, hah. I've been playing it the last few days, and only that. I've only used Photoshop CS5, Zune, and Firefox. Other than that I've done nothing but play APB...
Future help is greatly appreciated!!!
