Solved Sandisk SSD?

I plan placing an order for SanDisk Extreme PRO SSD 240 GB, after doing some research for both by desktop and laptop.

Your expert thoughts about them?

Would they be compatible with the desktop and laptop.......since they are SATA II and not III......both at the moment running WD Black and Blue?

Performed a clean install of W7 on both, would it possible to migrate when they arrive or shall have to reinstall again?

They will be compatible but will only run at SATA II speeds which is governed by your controller. It is possible to migrate your Windows installation (cloning, imaging) but if they're clean installs anyway you'd probably just be better off performing clean installs on the SSDs, it doesn't take long at all.

I can't comment on the drives themselves as I only use Intel and Samsung SSDs.

But if they run on SATA II, wont the displayed write read speed of the drive decrease?

10 yr warranty, low power, cool specs look awesome.

If the decrease would be drastic, than better buy WD Black Scorpio for the desktop too?

Read they run extremely cool, quiet and have 10 yr warranty.........one reason that am going for them since have fried my laps vid card 3 times.

While they'll only run at SATA II transfer rates I'd still take an SSD over the Scorpio.

Their is no hard drive that can keep up with the speed of a SSD on sata II or sata III.
