Scannow cannot repair corrupted files

Hello to everyone,
I am new here & looking for help with a computer issue. Any help given is greatly appreciated. I'll start from the beginning.
For awhile now but only very occasionally I am getting BSOD crashes & then the computer restarts. So today I decided to do some detective work & try to find out/repair what is going wrong. I ran SFC /SCANNOW & it returned a message that some corrupted files could not be repaired. So then I found some help online & ran it several more times. It returned the same message each time. I also did the Windows Update Readiness Tool, & that also did not fix the problem. A lot of the online help forums seem to mention doing a repair install however I do not want to resort to this unless I have to. First of all, I do not have an install disc. Then I read that it is always better to have your install disc directly from your computer's manufacture instead of making your own. So if I do have to do a repair install I will probably want to order a disc from Dell instead of making my own. Also my computer is relatively young (at least in my mind) about 1.5 years old, however my nephew does a lot of gaming & the computer does get a lot of use that way. I had my previous Dell for 8 years & it only got wonky near the end.

Since you are having a BSOD issue, I would recommend to read the instructions here: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions, and post back in the BSOD Help and Support forum area with the needed information. One of our BSOD experts should be by later when able to further help.

Thank you for your response. I wasn't sure that the two were related (BSOD & scannow results). I will do as you say. I do want to solve the BSOD issue but what if the two aren't related? Do I need to worry that much about a corrupt manifest as listed in the snannow results??

I'd see what happens with the BSOD issue first since that requires more specialized skills to work on. Be sure to also mention the SFC issue incase it may be related. It's always best to include all current issues since you just never know what may be related or not.
