First time poster, hoping some people can enlighten me on Windows 7

Why is it that as the owner of the computer, the software and the administrator I have to manually go in change the settings for almost every folder in the C drive.

It's very frusterating..............is there someway to do it for everything? I changed the security settings for the C drive, set it to all folders and subfolders but it didn't so all the subfolders.

Thanks

I know what you mean - very frustrating. I have not found a solution.

For example, I hate how Windows sets folder properties based on file type - I set all folder properties to "General Types". Then I create a new folder and drop an image file into it and BAM, Windows insists it KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR ME and sets the properties to "Pictures" even AFTER I set every folder on the hard drive to "General Types".

Just one more little aggravation from Microsoft, the "We know what's best for everyone!" company (I should trade mark that).

GEWB

Hello HzEmall,

You could Enable the Build-in administrator account and login under that account it will give to maximum administrator right. But it dangerous because that might lead other Malware to attack more easily. So when installing some application or doing some admin task use Build-in admin account and just regular use of the Computer use your regular account.

Hope this helps,
Captain
